Dean Wayne Pfeifer

Dean Wayne Pfeifer, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, left this world on January 12, 2026, at the age of 70. Dean was born on May 15, 1955, in Morris, to Kenneth Pfeifer and Rowena Wood. Dean's legacy is lovingly carried on by his wife of 48 years, Martha Pfeifer, who stood by his side as a partner in every sense. His daughters, Stephanie (John) Maddox, Rebecca Pfeifer, and Amy (Dan) Veselak, will forever cherish the lessons and love their father imparted. Dean's joy was multiplied with the birth of each of his grandchildren, Bradly and Dean (Katherine) Nicholson, Kade and Kaylee Maddox, Melia Pfeifer, and Max, Jack, and Sam Veselak, who will miss their grandfather's guidance. Dean is also survived by a close-knit family, including his brothers Greg Pfeifer, Al (Lauren) Pfeifer, and Jim (Debra) Pfeifer; his father-in-law William Rodosky; and brothers-in-law Mark (Mara) Rodosky, William (Kimberly) Rodosky, and Michael (Anne) Rodosky. His numerous nieces and nephews, who held a special place in his heart, will remember him fondly. Dean's best dog, Duke, was a loyal companion, always by his side in the field. Preceding him in death were his father, Kenneth (Katherine Tucek) Pfeifer, his mother, Rowena Pfeifer, and his mother-in-law, Norma Rodosky. Dean was a proud graduate of Mazon High School's class of 1973. His life was deeply rooted in agriculture. As a cattle farmer in Mazon, Dean raised beef cattle with a passion that was evident to all who knew him. He was a long-time supporter of the Highland Ag 4H, sharing his love for cattle showing with his daughters and eventually his grandchildren, creating a cherished family tradition. Dean spent many years driving trucks for Baudino Trucking and Valley Trucking before joining forces with his brother Al at Pfeifer Trucking in 2005. A visitation for Dean will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the UC Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris. A celebration of Dean's life will be held on Friday January 16, 2026, at 11:00 am at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Mazon Brookside Cemetery.
