Dean Thomas Templin

Dean Thomas Templin, 67, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at his residence in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Dean was a quiet, hard-working, and reflective person who found comfort in the outdoors and had a natural way with animals. He enjoyed thoughtful conversation, had a warm laugh, and offered help to others whenever he could. As a young man, Dean served in the U.S. Navy as an air-crewman in the helicopter search and rescue division. Following his military service, he spent many years with the United States Postal Service. A beloved father, Dean was there with a warm joke just when it was needed, consistently reaching out to be sure all was well. His daughters cherish the warmth and love he shared with them. He was a loving presence in their lives. In his later years, Dean enjoyed fishing and making trips "up north" with his brother Kurt and other family members. His final weekend was spent there, surrounded by the nature that he loved. Dean is remembered by his daughters, Angie, mother of grandson Jayze and granddaughter Lexa, and Heidi, mother of granddaughters Maya and Gemini; his siblings, Debbie, Vicki, and Kurt; his sisters-in-law, Patty and Kay; and his nieces, nephews, their families, and other relatives and friends who spent time with him through the years. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor and Samuel; brother, Jeffrey; nephew, Peter; and brother-in-law, Roger. He will be laid to rest alongside them at a later date in Isle, Minnesota at Sunset Cemetery, 1150 East Superior Street, 56342. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 2 PM with visitation starting at 1 PM at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Chapel, 2610 19th Avenue NE, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55418.
