Deanie Geisler Obituary

Visit the Flamm Funeral Home - Rexburg website to view the full obituary.

Claudie Dean “Deanie” Anderson Geisler, 72, of Rexburg, Idaho, peacefully returned to her heavenly home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous six-year battle with stage 4 cancer.

Deanie was born on October 12, 1953, to Dean Claude Anderson and Wanda Jean Thompson in Rexburg, Idaho. She married the love of her life, Steve Geisler, on December 18, 1971, and together they raised five children.

Deanie loved spending time with her family and grew up enjoying the outdoors with her older sisters and younger brother. She held a deep love for her hometown of Rexburg, where her roots ran strong. After marrying Steve, they purchased her childhood home from her mother, and although it was lost in the Teton Flood of 1976, they rebuilt and raised their own family on that same piece of land. She took great pride in having lived her entire life on the land that shaped her, a place filled with memories, resilience, and enduring connection.

Deanie was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and found great joy in serving in many callings throughout her life. She spent many years serving in the temple, a calling she deeply cherished in a place that brought her peace and comfort. Deanie had a passion for serving others, especially children and youth, both in her church and in her career. She worked for many years as a paraeducator at Adams Elementary in Rexburg, where she loved helping children discover a love of reading, one of her own favorite pastimes. Living near West Yellowstone, Mesa Falls, and Palisades provided a beautiful backdrop for her life, and she treasured the many summers spent hiking, camping, and making memories with her family.

She is survived by her daughter Shelly (Jesus) Roman, son Wade (Jennifer) Geisler, daughter Jeanne (Derrick) Anderson, son Adam Geisler, and son Joshua (Megan) Geisler. She is the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren, Justin Roman, Jason Roman, Angela (Gerald) Graham, McKell (Brogan) Bumgarner, Shaylee (Austin) Beck, Amethyst (Lance) Summers, Angela Anderson, Emma Deveraux, Kinley Geisler, Elise Deveraux, Mirielle Deveraux, Carter Anderson, Matthew Geisler, and Sarah Geisler and three great-grandsons, Tyce Bumgarner, Cooper Bumgarner, and Dawson Beck, and one great granddaughter, Vivian Summers. She is also survived by her sister Brenda (Bill) Schiess, sister by heart Vikki (Gene) Reynolds, and her brother Vance (Kellie) Anderson, brother-in law Lee (Eileen) Geisler, sisters-in-law Ellen (Ken) Carlson, Loainne (Larry) Geisler, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Steven John Geisler, mother Wanda Jean Hall, father Dean Claude Anderson, sister Gloria Lynn Howe, brother Shane Anderson, as well as cherished in-laws and loved ones who welcomed her home with open arms.

A viewing will be held at Flamm Funeral Home, 61 North 1st East, Rexburg, Idaho, Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
