Karen Wright

Karen Hegsted Wright passed away peacefully at her home on March 16, 2026.

Karen was born on January 24, 1947, in Rexburg, Idaho to Harold M. Hegsted and Mary Alice Hegsted. 

Karen attended schools in Sugar City and graduated from Sugar Salem High School in 1965. She later attended business school in Boise, Idaho.

Karen worked many jobs throughout her life to provide for her children. Her family was her primary focus, she loved them very much. Karen sold Avon for many years and was lovingly known as the neighborhood Avon lady. She most enjoyed working outside in her yard and caring for her many houseplants. She also loved shopping and Diet Coke.

Karen is survived by her children, Roxane (Mike) Carson of South Jordan, Utah; Shawn Carlson and Shelly Lord of Rexburg, Idaho. She is also survived by her grandson, Davin Carlson; sisters Marlene Grimmett of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Kolleen (Tony) Morgan of Rigby, Idaho.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be held at the Rexburg Cemetery on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends Monday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Flamm Funeral Home.
