Deanna Daly Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Memorial Chapel on Jan. 4, 2026.
Deanna Maxine Daly, nee Moss, of Lisle, aged 82 passed away peacefully on December 16th 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Deanna was a beloved wife to Kenneth, a cherished mother to Dean, Karin (John Toth) and Daniel, and a doting and devoted grandmother to Thomas, Isabella, Hannah, Abigail, Kenny, Ivy, and Genevieve. Being a sister was key to her identity and she loved her siblings fiercely. She leaves behind siblings Cheryl (Thomas Frey), Bradley (Kathy Fontera) and Rosita (Steven Kandlik), and was preceded in death by her sisters Roberta (Martin Milosh) and Amy (Timothy Kelly) and parents, Idelle and Dean Moss as well as her grandson, Kenny. She was always surrounded by family and friends, including beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, many of whom she met in high school and remained close with to this day.
Deanna was born on 7/7/43 in Colorado Springs Colorado, the eldest of six children. She lost her father to heart disease when she was 14 and became a second parent to her younger siblings. That early experience led her to a career in nursing after she graduated from Benedictine University to achieve her RN license. In her nursing career, she helped to open Good Samaritan hospital as a member of their first team of cardiac nurses. Later in her career she leveraged her nursing degree to focus on healthcare utilization management.
She married Kenneth Daly in 1963, whom she met at Lisle High School where they were prom dates. They remained in Lisle where they raised three children and prospered in their careers, allowing them to retire in their 50s and travel extensively. They visited Asia, Europe, Australia and South America plus all 50 US states. Deanna was active with the Lisle Women's Club for 35+ years and served as President and various committee leads. She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, and was very active in her children's schools. She loved to garden, and her expansive park-like lawn including a pond, a creek and a large vegetable patch was featured in a Lisle Women's Club garden walk. Ken and Dea are long-time members of the DuPage Drifters camping club, and went camping with this group as recently as August, with two granddaughters in tow. She loved to discuss politics and was proud to stand up for democracy, carrying an American flag while in her wheelchair at a recent protest march.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date in the new year. In her memory, contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Green Trails or their international mission, Lisle Women's Club, to fund local scholarships and LUNGevity, supporting lung cancer research.

We knew Deanna and Ken when our kids were going to Lisle High School and participated in various activities with her kids, especially sports. She and Ken were in Booster Club when we were active. Ken was also in Lisle Lions Club when Gary was a member. Deanna was always involved in many activities, especially with her kids. She was a great person and will be missed by many. We send our condolences and prayers to the family she leaves. Gary and Judy Morten
