Michael Joseph Wiley

Michael J. Wiley, Jr., 58, of Darien, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love of family and friends.

A graduate of Illinois State University, Mike was known for his quick wit, warm sense of humor, and the joy he found in friendly competition. He loved gathering with friends for pub trivia, where his wide-ranging knowledge and playful spirit made him both an essential teammate and a favorite at the table. A lifelong sports fan, Mike had a special passion for baseball and loved traveling to new ballparks with his brother from another mother, Jeremy Armer, talking about the sport's history, and debating the finer points of the game.

Above all, Mike cherished time spent with his family. He was a devoted son and a proud father whose greatest happiness came from seeing his daughters grow and thrive. His encouragement and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mike is survived by his mother, Marilyn Wiley, and his daughters, Peyton, Mia, and Alison, who will carry forward his deep curiosity and his love of laughter and family. He leaves behind aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many longtime friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

He will be remembered for his sharp mind, generous heart, and the countless trivia nights, ball games, family dinners, and memories shared with those fortunate enough to know him.

A Funeral Mass for Mike will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (8404 S. Cass Avenue, Darien) on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11 AM. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life from 12-3 PM, also on Saturday, at Carriage Greens Country Club (8700 Carriage Green Drive, Darien). All are welcome to join to share memories, stories and comfort, whether or not you attend Mass.
