Deanna Harmon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home, Inc. - Princeton on Apr. 14, 2024.
KEGLEY – Deanna Mae (West) Harmon, 77, of Kegley, went home to be with our Lord and Savior early on Saturday, April 13, 2024 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born May 27, 1946 in Matoaka, she was the daughter of the late George West and Vivian Mae Oresta West.
Mrs. Harmon was retired from the Mercer County Board of Education, as school secretary, with 36 years of service among several schools, last working at Straley Elementary. She loved reading, camping, enjoying the beach, evening time on her front porch, and most of all, spending time with family and friends. Deanna was a member of Kegley Baptist Church and attended as her health permitted. In recent years, she enjoyed watching INSP westerns and watching the late Dr. Charles Stanley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 59 years, William Dowell (Duke) Harmon, Jr.; two sons, William "Billy" Harmon and Kenny Harmon and wife Rhonda all of Kegley; four grandsons, Buddy Harmon and wife Heather of Lashmeet, Adam Harmon of Kegley, Brandon Harmon of Kegley and Jacob Harmon of Princeton; five great grandchildren, Jordan Hazelwood, Alexis "Lexi" Harmon, Eli Harmon, Kylie Harmon and Lennon Harmon; one sister, Norma Jean Early of Culpepper, VA; two brothers-in-law, Wayne Jenkins and Chris Harmon and wife Patricia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Rick Setser officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Princeton.
Her sons and grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Billy Harmon, Kenny Harmon, Will Harmon, Adam Harmon, Brandon Harmon and Jacob Harmon. Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Hazelwood and Eli Harmon.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.bailey-kirk.com.
