Dearl Kirk Crawford of Troy, formerly of Rogers, passed away at his home in the
early morning hours of Sunday, July 27 with his supportive wife, Kristi Lynn Crawford, at
his side. A longtime native of Bell County, Dearl was born on January 20, 1954 in
Temple to his parents Mary Elizabeth and James Wayne Crawford Sr., who preceded
him in death. He is also preceded in death by his older sister, Anita Elizabeth Crawford.
Dearl graduated from Rogers High School in 1972. Following graduation, Dearl
pursued a long career in building materials and in construction, which started with work
in his father's lumberyard. He also spent many years working as a foreman for both DSI
Adam's Drywall.
While pursuing this career, Dearl also helped in the raising of his two
sons, Darin and Derek Crawford. On June 4, 1994, Dearl married Kristi, to which the
two spent another 21 years happily married. In his late life, Dearl enjoyed taking his
boats out on Lake Belton and the Brazos River, riding his Polaris around on his property
in Belfalls, watching his grandchildren's sporting events, and spending time with his
family and his Labrador, Smoky. As said by his brother and best friend, Jim Crawford,
Dearl was a man with a big heart, and one that you could always count on, no matter
what the circumstances were. Dearl's loved ones knew he would do anything he could
for them.
Dearl is survived by: his wife Kristi Lynn Crawford, his son Darin Crawford and
wife Amber and their children Peyten and Baylee, his son Derek Crawford, his brother
Jim Crawford and daughter Shannon and husband Caleb, and his two stepsons Michael
and Kevin Rich.
