Debra Barrera
September 9. 1956 – May 4, 2024
Debra Barrera, better known as Debbie, went to her forever heavenly home May 4, 2024. She was born September 9, 1956, in Texas City, TX to Andy and Myrtle Shefts.
Debbie was a woman of many talents. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and she loved sewing whether it was for family, friends, or people of the church. She was always singing at home or at church.
She loved playing with her cat and texting memes. She was a blessing to her church where she kept everything running. She had such a servant's heart. She was always willing to help in any way. We will miss her infectious laugh, joyful spirit, spanish rice, and banana bread!
She is preceded in death by her parents. Left to honor her memory are her beloved husband of 35 years, John Barrera, daughter, Danielle, sons, Christopher and Mathew, daughters-in-law, Puff Barrera, Natalie Tobar, sister, Beverly Pryor and husband Wayne, brother, Michael Shefts, nephews, Wayne David Pryor and Michael Barrera, niece, Laura Barrera, grandchildren, Chelsea Barrera Lee, and husband Richmond, Caitlyn Barrera, Gabrielle Barrera, and husband John Cottle, Victoria Barrera and husband Rob Leos, and Julie Barrera, great-grandchildren, Waylon Etta and Joni Lee, Ivy Cottle, and Davina Leos.
Visitation will be held at 10 AM, May 8, 2024, followed by Funeral Service at 11 AM at First Assembly of God. 701W US 287 Bypass, Waxahachie TX 75165.
