Born on July 7, 1963, in Sylvester, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Warren Ed Johnson and Sonja Gail Rodenberry Johnson. Debbie was a registered nurse who spent many years serving in the emergency room, where her calm demeanor and expert care made a lasting impact on the lives of countless patients and families. Her dedication to helping others extended beyond her time in the ER as she also worked at The Dialysis Treatment Center in the late 90’s and in Dr. Yared’s Office.
In addition to her nursing career, Debbie had a deep passion for painting and artwork. She found peace and joy in expressing herself through her art, creating beautiful pieces that brought color and warmth to the world around her. Whether it was a simple sketch or an intricate painting, her art was a reflection of the love and care she showed to everyone in her life. She has many art pieces in the home of John Berry, Hamilton Elementary School, and Dr. Cordista's office. Mrs. Powers was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Faith Johnson.
Mrs. Powers is survived by her husband, Willis Lee Powers of Moultrie; son, Jason Scott Montgomery of Jacksonville, Florida; daughter, Tiffany Gail Powers of Moultrie; grandchildren, Rachel Dawn Montgomery, Owen Tyson Powers, Toby Lee Aldredge, Saydee Mae Aldredge, River Jace LeBlanc, and Maycee Dae Powers; and sisters, Cathy Johnson and Tammy Johnson both of Moultrie.
