Debbie Ruth Vickers

Debbie Ruth Vickers, age 66, of Marion, IL, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Herrin Hospital.
She was born on July 18, 1959 in Price, UT, to Byron Edward and Lucie Ann (Howard) Cook.
She married the love of her life, Walter Fred Vickers, Jr., on January 28, 1980, in Mt. Vernon, IL and together they shared 45 years of marriage, building a life centered on love, faith, and family.
Debbie was a faithful Christian and lived her life with compassion, devotion, and grace. She was an excellent wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she truly lived for her family. Her greatest joy came from caring for her loved ones, and her nurturing spirit touched all who knew her. Debbie's warmth, strength, and unwavering love will be remembered and cherished always.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
Survivors include her loving husband of forty-five years, Walter Fred Vickers, Jr. of Marion; son, Lance Vickers of Herrin; daughters, Dayna (Brad)Vogt of Carbondale and Christina Fisher of Marion; brother, Brad Cook of Price, UT; sisters, Connie Harding of Price, UT and Kandi (Mike)Uffer of Lindon, UT; grandchildren, Jake (Chasity)Weaver, Megan Weaver, Kaeleb Weaver, Kaitlin(Nick) Jellen, Aubrey Vogt, Brennan Vogt, Jacie Weaver, Allison Vogt, Zander Fisher, Gabe Fisher, and Tesla Fisher; great-grandchildren, Amelia Weaver, Sawyer Ross, Salem Snowden, Arya Jellen, Iyla Alkabsh and Reeve Weaver; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Cook; and granddaughter, Hope Weaver.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
The visitation will be held at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Following the time of visitation, the funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Bonifacius presiding.
For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to "The Lighthouse Shelter." Contribution envelopes will be available during the visitation at the funeral home or may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL 62959.
