Debra G. “Debbie” Williams, 58, of Monroe, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at CMC Main in Charlotte surrounded by her loving family. Debbie was born in Union County on January 19, 1958 to Linda Helms Jones and the late Joseph Harold Jones. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 31 years, Lanny J. Williams and Sister Janice L. Jones.
Debbie had a sweet spirit who loved her family, especially her granddaughter “Punky Doodle,” friends, church, and dog Buddy. She was always eager to open her home to everyone and anyone during the holidays and snow days. Anyone could walk into her home and feel welcomed and loved. It was easy to hold conversation with Debbie that could last for hours. She could always be found on the front porch with her neighbors enjoying her birds and the warm weather.
Survivors include her loving mother, Linda Helms Jones; Son, Alan Helms and wife Amy; Granddaughter, Brittany Helms; Stepdaughter, Amy Williams Burris and husband Robbie; Brother, Rodney Jones; Father in law, RC Williams; nieces and nephews; and her very best friend, Candy Catron Knight.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, March 14, 2016 at Unionville Baptist Church, 510 Baucom Rd., Monroe, with Pastors Roger Nance and Hank Parker officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12-2 PM. Graveside services to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe.
