Debbie Woodhall, age 71, of the Marion, IL area, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 6:59 a.m. at her home.
She was born on March 28, 1953, in Fairbanks, AK, a daughter to Maurice Anthony "Doc" and Betty (Barham) Shively. She was united in marriage to Robert Woodhall in Palos Heights, IL, and together they raised five children.
Debbie attended Carterville Schools and went on to further her education at Southern Illinois University – Carbondale.
She had a heart for service. Debbie devoted her life to caring for others. She spent many years fostering fragile children and was known for looking after children who needed love and support. Debbie was a faithful Christian. She loved God and children and was always putting the needs of others before her own. So much so, that she went on mission trips to Haiti and Mexico City. In Haiti, Debbie worked with dentists there to provide dental care, first, for adults. While there, she totally revolutionized the mission program to begin working with children and doing preventative dental work. While living in Chicago, Debbie became licensed to drive the church bus, where she drove for the youth group. She drove the bus from Chicago to Texas for the mission trip taken to Mexico City.
In her spare time, Debbie loved to travel, particularly anywhere with a beach. She loved her many dogs and above all, Debbie loved her family.
She is survived by her children, Christopher Maurice Rosenbarger and husband, Joshua Rivero, of Chicago, IL, Joseph Anthony Woodhall and his wife, Mandy Moore, of Carterville, IL, Daniel Robert Woodhall of Marion, IL, Bianca Elizabeth Woodhall of Chicago, IL and Joshua Dakota Woodhall and wife, Paige, of Marion, IL; her father, Doc Shively of Michigan; grandchildren, Noah, Christian, Jonah, Odette, Kade and Creed; brother, Chuck Shively of Michigan; sister, Kim Borders and husband, Gary, of Marion, IL; and niece, Ashley Melvin.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Shively; brother, Alan Shively; and sister, Catherine Shively.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL.
The visitation will be at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
