With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Debby Hardison Cuthrell on November 7, 2024, in New Bern, NC. While born in New Bern, she was truly from Pamlico County.
It was there she discovered a love of going fast - whether it be on dirt bikes or in cars - a passion shared with her father, the late Jimmy Bruce Hardison. She enjoyed shopping for plants (and snagging the occasional roadside cattail) with her mother, the late Mary Lindsey Hardison.
It was also where she met & married the love of her life, Randy Thomas Green. Together they brought two daughters into the world, Amanda "Michelle" Green & Lindsey Green Potter (Adam), who she leaves behind to cherish her memory.
Despite her medical issues, Debby's professional life was centered around helping others in a multitude of ways. From nursing in long-term care facilities to feeding kids lunch at Arapahoe Charter School, to volunteering with local EMS and finally helping others maintain clean homes.
However, her true joy was found in her grandchildren - Preston Green-Sykes and Arianna Grace Potter. Preston and Debby shared a love of the moon, stars & sky while she & Arianna bonded through the love of crochet. She loved every moment spent with them.
We'd be remiss to not mention her love & devotion to her dogs, Luna & Thelma, who miss her already. We are comforted in knowing her favorite canine companion, Little Man, along with her parents & loved ones were there to greet her on the other side.
There will be a memorial service to honor Debby's life at Daniels-Sadler Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 16th at 11 am. The family would be happy to see everyone who knew & loved Debby there.
