Mrs. Deborah Sue Allen was born on March 10, 1959, to the late Dorothy (Brinson) Carter and Charlie Whitfield of
Statesboro, Georgia. She departed January 24, 2025, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty (Brinson) Shields and Annie Mae (Whitfield) Jones in 2019.
Deborah was educated in the Bulloch County school system and graduated from Statesboro High school, class of 1978. She received her associate's degree in business and worked as a Paraprofessional for the Bulloch County School System, she dedicated her life to the service of others, through our Lord and savior. Which was demonstrated in her amazing parenting to five foster children, usually no more than two at a time, whom she cared for and loved as her own.
She met and married James Allen 45 years ago. She loved to cook, bake and host family events, especially Family Thanksgiving dinners. Deborah loved her family, especially her grandchildren and she loved her church. Family meant more to her than just her relatives. Her family included sister friends, childhood friends and those who cherished and loved her too.
Deborah served in several positions in the faith at First Mount Pisgah Primitive Baptist Church as a Financial Secretary Deaconess, Chairman of the Trustee Board. She was Matron's President of the New Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Association, Matron's President of the Georgia State Convention, and Matron Secretary of the Primitive Baptist Association. She also served as a member of the Eastern Stars. Stars. Debra also served as a secretary for the "National Primitive Baptist Convention."
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Allen; two sons, Keith Brinson and Cortney Allen; eight brothers, Charlie (Mattie) Whitfield, Jr, Donald (Floretta) Littles, Roy Brinson, Willie Brinson, Lonnie (Felicia) Brinson, Jesse (Simone) Whitfield, Joseph Whitfield, Antonio (Tamara) Whitfield and two sisters, Kathleen Cunningham, and Charlie (Chase) Whitfield; several in-Laws, Floyd Allen, Fred Allen, Will Chase, Lemuel Shields, Mary Hagan, and Ruby Powers; one aunt, Gertie Williams and her special niece, LaTonya Brinson. Six grandchildren, Chynna Brinson, Elijah Cone, Italy (Trevion) Littles, Cadence Allen, Dallas Ziegler Allen and Brooklynn Allen and a host of adorable great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves to cherish her memory, godparents Grady and Frances McCray, her special sister, Sonya Beal and so many friends and associates, all of whom she adored.
Family visitation will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the funeral home, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
The funeral service for Mrs. Deborah Allen, will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Harry J. Tremble, pastor, and the Elder Rickyto Stowe, officiating. Burial will follow in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
