Deborah Boote Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 31, 2022.
Deborah Ackroyd Boote passed away at the age of 72 on August 25, 2022, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born in 1949 in Tallahassee, Florida, Deborah grew up in Orlando and Jacksonville.
Deb, as she was known to her friends and family, attended Bishop Kenny high school and settled in Philadelphia in 1974. There she met her life partner, Jimmy Quigley, an avid fisherman. Deb grew to love fishing herself, and the couple hoped to one day purchase their own deep sea fishing boat in Jacksonville. However, Jimmy passed away in 2002, and Deb returned to Jacksonville to be with her mother, Catherine Mickie Boote. In Jacksonville, Deb worked in the children s shoe department at Dillard's for over seventeen years. Her co-workers all praised her work ethic, and Deb was proud of her Employee of the Month award. Deb was a dog lover and had several treasured pets including Scooter, Honey, and Kit Kat (adopted from a research facility that had raised the beagle as a cat).
Deb was predeceased by her mother, Catherine, and her father, Arthur Boote, Jr. She is survived by her brothers Michael Boote (Las Vegas, NV) and Arthur Buz Boote, III (Jacksonville, FL); and her sisters Patricia Potts (Prince George, VA) and Elizabeth Griffey (Jacksonville, FL). Services will be held on December 16, 2022, at St. Joseph s Historic Catholic Church at 4214 Loretto Rd in Jacksonville at 10 a.m.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.hgmandarin.com for the BOOTE family.
