Deborah "Debe" Lynn Cannon, a cherished mother, stepmother, sister, sister-in-law, and friend, passed away at her home on October 30, 2025, in Portsmouth, Virginia. Born on April 25, 1952, in Belleville, Illinois, Debe lived a life full of love and dedication, reaching the age of 73.

Debe was preceded in death by her parents, Tyrus Tris Skelton and Irene Lucy Brock Skelton, her beloved husband, whom was her soulmate, Leon Joseph Cannon and her sister, Denise "Neesie" Tyan (Skelton) Perdue. Her devotion to family was evident in her unwavering care for her husband during his battle with ALS.

Professionally, Debe was an accomplished accounting professional, known for her meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic. However, her greatest passion was her family and caring for her husband, whom she loved dearly and prioritized above all else.

She is survived by her son, James C. Nance, III of New York, and her stepson, Stephen Cannon of Florida. Debe also leaves behind her sister, Linda Skelton and sister-in-law, Brenda Sorg, along with numerous other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A private family celebration of Debe's life will be held at a later date. The Cremation Society of Virginia, Chesapeake Office, is assisting the family during this time of need. Friends and family are invited to share their condolences and memories online at www.vacremationsociety.com.

Debe's warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
