Deborah Sue Cary, 68, of Virginia, IL, passed away at her residence on December 5, 2024.
Debbie was born on July 3, 1956, in Beardstown, a daughter to Raymond and Carolina (Bowman) Landes. She married Tim Cary on November 12, 2013, after sharing a home with each other since 1996.
She is survived by her husband, Tim, of Virginia; mother, Carolina, of Beardstown; brothers, Raymond Jr. and David, both of Beardstown; nephew, Marcus, of Quincy; and niece, Vanessa of Griggsville. She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Billy; and daughter, Alecia.
Debbie worked at Cargill for 27 years. Upon retiring, she worked for Home Health. She had also worked at Star Cafe in Beardstown for quite a few years. Debbie loved watching old game shows on TV and also going to the casinos with her lifelong friend of 55 years, Connie Allen of Kentucky.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon, December 10, 2024, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia. The family will meet friends from 10 -12, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Debbie will be buried at Garner Chapel Cemetery, just north of Philadelphia, IL. After the burial, a luncheon will be provided by the family at The Elks Lodge in Beardstown at 2pm. Memorial donations are suggested to Garner Chapel Cemetery or Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.
