Deborah Rochelle Davis was born on January 11, 1953, in Beckley, West Virginia, to Raymond and Ola Brooks. She was the oldest of five children. Deborah departed this life to be with the Lord
on January 2, 2024, at Grant Medical Center, at the age of seventy-one years old. Southfield Baptist Church was her Christian home; she loved her church family and pastor.
Deborah graduated from Marion Franklin High School in June of 1971. In December of 1971, she married Michael "Roach" Davis. From this union, three children were born – Jacqueline, Michael,
and Raymond.
Deborah was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was known by family and friends as "Debbie," She loved being around children, always showering them with love and
attention. Deborah was the one aunt that everyone felt comfortable talking to and sharing their thoughts.
From 1987 to 2014, Deborah was a mutual clerk at Beulah Park Racetrack. She was one of the popular clerks and was loved by many of the patrons. Deborah also worked many high-stake races such as The Kentucky Derby and the Preakness in Baltimore, Maryland. She also worked a number of years at Scioto Downs.
Deborah retired from the Franklin County Auditor Office, where she worked for several years. She was also a long-time member of the Southfield Civic Association, where she worked faithfully and
served as the secretary for many years.
Deborah was the founding member of the Buck Wild Investment Club. She also was a member of both the Toastettes and Tuxedo & Lace Social Clubs. Deborah was the matriarch of her family. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. Deborah was always trying to get the family to do activities together. She loved to bake and was a faithful Bengals and Raiders fan.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ola Brooks; husband, Michael Davis; significant other/life partner, Andrew Williams; son, Raymond Keith Davis; brother, Charles Brooks; brother-in-law, Jeffery Skipper; and special friend, Vivian McReynolds.
Memories of Deborah will forever linger in the hearts of: her daughter, Jacqueline Jordan; son, Michael (Kimberly) Davis; stepdaughter, Andrea Williams; daughter-in-law, Lisa Hairston Davis; sisters,
Sandy Mason, Anise (Clarence) Cox, and Cynthia Skipper; sister-in-law, Jane Brooks; grandchildren, Michael "Keithy" Davis, Charles Davis, and Makayla Davis; nieces and nephews, KaTrina (Duane) McReynolds, Jeffery Skipper, Fedilis Mason II, Clarence Brooks, Kanisha (David) Johnson, Ebony Skipper, LaKeesha Brooks, Alena Griffin, and Jared Brooks; a host of great-nieces and nephews; and a special friend, who was like her sister, Teresa Holliday.
