Debbie Moore, the beloved sister and devoted caregiver to her pampered cats, passed away peacefully in her home on April 9th, following complications from congestive heart failure. Born on August 5, 1950, in Meridian, Debbie was the first child of Dorothy and A.R. Yochim.

Debbie was a quiet and reserved child who blossomed into a beautiful woman with a fondness for Naval Air pilots, Corvettes and hair extensions. She faced the tragic loss of her fiancé to a flight training accident in 1970. After a difficult adjustment, she met her future husband, Gayle Luke Moore, at an LP Gas convention in Atlanta. They married in 1972 and enjoyed an incredibly strong and loving marriage for 30 years, living in Atlanta, Dallas, Tulsa and El Paso, before retiring to Meridian. Gayle always put Debbie first, spoiled her with new cars, diamond jewelry and an endless array of hair pieces!

Debbie's secret power was her incredible determination and resilience in the face of life’s inevitable challenges. Despite a phobia of hospitals, she cared for Gayle during his battle with lymphoma and, just as he was cured, she faced her own battle with breast cancer. Debbie remained devoted to her family and her beloved cats, from her childhood Siamese Samantha, to her Himalayan Persian crosses Misty and Beignet, and her final feline love GiGi, a retired Persian queen from a NOLA show breeder.

Debbie was a fashionista who designed her own home and could have been an interior decorator. She was never seen in public without her hair perfectly coifed and makeup flawlessly applied, which meant she was invariably late for everything. She loved her trips to New Orleans for the food and culture.

Predeceased by her parents Dot and AR, husband Gayle, and brother-in-law Daryl Glazer. Debbie is survived by her brothers, Al (Gayle Hamilton) and Chris; In-Laws, Reverand Joe and Carlin Moore and Dr. Jerry Moore. The family is deeply grateful to Annie and her caregivers, for their loving attention during Debbie's final months. Our family is grateful to her cardiologist, Dr. Thomas Plavac and his team for extending the quality and longevity of Debbie’s life.

All who knew Debbie will now miss her heartfelt Hallmark Cards mailed for every birthday and holiday!

A memorial service will be held at Webb Funeral Home, Meridian on Wednesday April 16th, with visitation from 10:30 to 11:30am and a brief service from 11:30 to 12 noon by Father Augustine of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. In the future, a celebration of life will be hosted by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Debbie's honor to an animal rescue of your choice or to Coyote Hills Therapeutic Riding and Rescue in Chunky, MS https://horserescuems.org/
