Deborah (Debbie) Ann Dees Chapman of Madison, MS, passed away peacefully at Baptist Hospital on December 20, 2025. Debbie was born November 9, 1967, in Jackson, MS, where she grew up. She graduated from Woodland Hills Baptist Academy. After obtaining an Associate Degree from Hinds Community College, she attended Mississippi State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.
She is survived by her husband, John Michael (Mike) Chapman. They were married for 34 years. She loved him dearly, as well as her Yorkie, Benjamin, and good food. Debbie was employed by Walmart for 36 years, where her coworkers became her extended family. She was a hard worker with a sweet heart and is remembered as a kind and caring person with a wonderful sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbern E. Dees, and her mother, Helen Ann Jordan.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her uncles, Johnnie (Becky), Sam (Stephanie), and Ernie (Vicky); aunts, Ruthie and Rita (Wilson); stepfather, Cordis Jordan; stepmother, Vicki Lea-Dees; stepbrothers, Dale Jordan (Wendy) and Chris Jordan; stepsister, Karen Jordan Hollis (Kerry); sister-in-law, Lee Ann Smith (Gary); brother-in-law, Danny Chapman (Ivy); and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
