Deborah Gamari, born in Williamstown, Massachusetts on December 23, 1955, passed away after a long illness early Monday morning, January 2, 2023, at Care Dimensions Hospice in Lincoln, Massachusetts surrounded by family.
Debbie was the only child of Lorraine Rosenburg (Wood) and Joseph Rosenburg. She was raised in the beautiful town of Williamstown, where she will be laid to rest beside generations of her family. It was in the close community of Williamstown where she and her husband David first fell in love at Mt. Greylock Regional High School, where they both played in the band and enjoyed skiing together.
Above all, Debbie truly cherished time together with those she loved, and as life's course evolved so did she. While attending Framingham State University, earning a bachelor's degree in home economics, she married Phillip Martinez of Kent, Washington then stationed with the US Coast Guard out of Boston. Together they brought their only child Marissa into the world on June 9, 1989.
After graduating with a degree in Home Economics, Debbie began her early career in retail sales, taking every opportunity to build her skills, where she learned to write computer software for her employer, and ultimately earned a master's degree in Project Management from Colorado Technical University. This evolved into a 20-year career with MiltonCat and most recently with FDC Solutions, both firms part of the vast infrastructure of Caterpillar Corporation.
On September 15th of 2007, Debbie once again affirmed her love with David Gamari and they were married at The Williams Inn On the Green in their hometown of Williamstown. Together, along with Marissa, David's son Benjamin Gamari and Benjamin's wife Laura Dietz, and many cousins, nieces and nephews, they continued life's journey.
On July 13, 2019, Debbie's daughter Marissa married Michael Demers - both graduates of St. Anselm college - welcoming Michael and his family into hers. Then, on June 16, 2021, Marissa and Michael were blessed with the birth of Theodore (Theo) and Debbie became a proud "Mimi", loving every minute she could with her grandson and family.
If there was one trait that could supremely define Debbie, it was her desire to be of service to all - whether it be family, friends, or organizations where she could channel her unique dedication and commitment. She was tireless in her devotion to supporting her daughter's passions in gymnastics and dance. She volunteered many years of service to the Milford Public Library teaching English as a Second Language, an dedicated countless hours with her rescue colleagues finding homes for Siberian Huskies through her work with Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue of Norfolk, MA, of which she is a board member to this day.
Debbie enjoyed craft painting, sewing, baking, and paddle boarding with David. But the one pleasure that Debbie and David shared on a daily basis was their love of Siberian Huskies - of which Debbie raised many including Kodi, and along with David, Tiki (an especially rugged Sibe in the truest sense) and Miley Rose (a dainty princess of a Husky that came to the family after being rescued from a troubled life), who lives with David to this day.
Debbie's love of dogs, and Siberian Huskies in particular, was because she understands the intimacy our pets share with their family members. Miley was with the family when Debbie left this world, and was especially mournful the moment she passed on.
We all share our grief with the loss of Debbie. Her compassion and love were felt by all she knew. With her passing, her life comes full circle to the town of Williamstown, where she was raised, and where she will once again be rejoined with her beloved David one day in the future, overlooking the valley, forever together. Gone too soon but forever in our hearts.
Calling hours will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 from 3 to 5 pm at the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home at 42 Congress Street, Milford followed by a service at 5:30 pm at the funeral home. Debbie will then be interred at the family burial plot at Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown, with a small service on Saturday, January 7, 2023.
