Deborah Hardy was born May 4th, 1958, in Kanab Utah. She passed away peacefully on the evening of March 23rd, 2025 in the comfort of her home in St George Utah, where she was surrounded by family.
Daughter of Gile Gifford and Margaret Veater Hardy, she was the second born of four children. She leaves behind her brother Jim, sister-in-law Susie, her sister LuAnn, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. She was devoutly dedicated to her family, church, and work. She put her whole heart and soul into everything that was placed before her.
Deb was a sports fanatic. In her youth, she was an avid athlete, excelling in all high school sports, and carried her love for softball into her college years, where she played Catcher for Dixie College. She was also an avid horseman. She loved barrel racing, western pleasure, showmanship, and never turned down an opportunity to go trail riding with her Dad or friends.
She enjoyed learning many skills, and was a valued employee wherever she worked, ultimately finding her passion in healthcare, with her main focus being in surgical services.
Debbie was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed serving in many callings, with her favorite being called to serve as a missionary in the New York, New York mission, spending most of her time in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
She also loved all things family history. She spent many hours researching and learning about her ancestors, and never missed an opportunity to share stories about them.
Deb carried on her Mother's love of Christmas. Her house was always beautifully decorated during the holiday season. She loved to cook for her family, whether it be for the holidays or for General Conference. Her meals included some of her Mother's favorite recipes, which were never written down.
Debbie had a strong testimony of the gospel. She had a love for her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and strived to live a life worthy to return to live with them. What a joyous reunion, as she passed through the veil into the arms of her loved ones on the other side.
Preceded in death by her father Gile, mother Margaret, brother John, maternal and paternal grandparents, and many aunts, uncles and cousins; She is survived by her brother James (Susie), her sister LuAnn, her nieces Jennifer (Mark), Meghan, Tatum (Nathan), Caitlyn, and Marley; and her nephews Colton (Emily), Kaden (Koriann), Austin, Tyler, Jacob, Joshua (Lexie), Ethan, and Redmond.
