Winter Harbor
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Deborah O. Holden, 66, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and Sugarloafer. Deborah passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024, at her home in Winter Harbor, Maine, surrounded by her family, friends, and the love of her life, Ray Eaton.
Deborah was born and raised in Bangor, ME, the daughter of Glen and Betty Osgood. She approached life with enthusiasm and a smile, embodying a zest for life and a love for all that Maine had to offer. In her earlier years, she spent summers at her family home in Bunker's Harbor and winters skiing at Sugarloaf. She had a knack for making everything she touched beautiful, excelling as a talented gardener and interior decorator. Deborah loved all animals, especially horses and dogs, and wherever she was, a canine friend was always nearby. In her later years, she settled in Winter Harbor, where she could be found walking along the beach with friends or snowshoeing through the woods with Ray.
Her passion for life extended to the community around her. Her warm and generous spirit was evident in her career in mental health services. At 55, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maine. She continued her education, earning a Master of Science in Counseling Rehabilitation. She dedicated many years to a recovery center for women and children, making a significant difference in many people's lives.
Deborah's greatest joy in life was her family. They were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She is survived by her two daughters, Jesse Blazar and her husband Sam, and Meghan Rair; three grandchildren, Finn, Ozzie, and Remy; her brother Thomas Osgood, nieces and nephews, and her beloved Ray Eaton. She is predeceased by her son, Eben Moss. Her legacy of love, compassion, and strength will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in Deb's memory can be made to the Tessa Lee Libby Foundation at PO Box 655, Hampden, ME. 04444.

So very sorry to here of Deb's passing. I worked with her when she was interning and really enjoyed our discussions. We talked about everything from animals to the meaning of life. She was a wonderful person.

I treasure the memory of our friendship. We shared many things especially our morning walks. These walks kept us healthy in body, mind and soul. We often joked how they were our therapy sessions. Since I was new to the area it was delightful to have her as a friend from the start. I considered this very good fortune.
