It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of our precious momma and granny, Deborah Sue Simpson Mullins. She entered her Heavenly home on November 27, 2024, at the age of 67.
Born on October 1, 1957, in McDowell County, West Virginia, she was the precious daughter of the world's best parents, the late Donald Bernard and Carol Sue Blevins Simpson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cherished baby sister, Pamela Dianne Simpson, whom she loved and missed oh so dearly. The joyous reunion that they shared with each other must have been an extraordinary and sight for all of Heaven to see.
For over 20 years, she devoted herself as a nurse to her patients. Her kind demeanor and unwavering commitment to their well-being made her a beloved figure in the lives of those she cared for.
She is survived by her cherished son and daughter-in-law, William (Billy) and Angel Mullins, and her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Josh Carico. Although her Sunshine and Rainbow were a huge part of her world, her entire world orbited around being Granny to Kamberlyn and Noah (aka Granny's PJ-short for pride and joy). They brought immeasurable pleasure to her life. She shared a very special relationship with them, often lighting up at the mere mention of their names. Being their Granny was her greatest delight in life.
She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Sam Lilly; a very beloved, special, and treasured aunt, Leona Muncy; and other extended family members.
In honoring her memory, we invite those she touched and inspired to celebrate her life in their own special ways. A memorial service will be held at a later date, allowing friends and family to gather and share stories of Deborah's kindness and her impact on their lives.
Mom, on this earth, you spent decades searching for solace and forgiveness. We pray that you're now enjoying the comfort of His everlasting arms and have the peace that you so desperately saught after for so long.
