Debbie, beloved daughter of Robert and Barbara Newsome, went to be with the Lord and her mama early on November 30th.
Debbie was a graduate of Clemson University with a major in Accounting. She went on to become an employee of Winthrop University and retired as the Athletic Business Manager after 34 years of loyal service. Debbie was always an active member in church and loved to sing with her beautiful voice. She served as Choir Director at Antioch United Methodist Church for several years until her health failed her. Debbie was extraordinarily talented in arts and crafts. She was always busy using her God given talents whether it was painting ceramic pieces for her family and friends, or crocheting baby blankets and hats with her mom for the premature babies in the local hospital. She loved her cats and pampered them. Debbie loved her family and her bond with them will last until they are all gathered again in Eternity.
Debbie is survived by her father, her brother Geoff Newsome (Kaye) of Lancaster, SC, sister Misty Dunlap (Dennis) of Rock Hill and her two nephews Gabriel Dunlap (Nikki) and Joshua Dunlap both of Rock Hill.
Lancaster Funeral Home & Cremation Service is serving the family of Ms. Newsome.

I had the pleasure of working with Debbie at Winthrop University. She was so very nice and a joy to be around. I am so very sorry to hear of her passing. Sending love and prayers.
