Deborah Norris Peirce Deborah Norris Peirce, 84, of Scarborough, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, in Portland, Maine. Deborah Jean Norris was born on January 19, 1941, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to John and Betty Norris. Debbie married the love of her life, Jonathan Strong Peirce, on October 7, 1967, in Belmont, Massachusetts. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. They are the proud parents of two sons, Benjamin and Nathaniel Peirce. Debbie and Jonathan moved their young family to Scarborough, Maine, in 1976 to live year-round at the Peirce summer home. Together, they designed and built a home focused on the natural beauty of Scarborough Beach and their love of sharing it with family and friends. Debbie earned a Bachelor of Arts in French from Rockford College in Illinois. She was a successful self-employed interior decorator. Her creativity and passion for design transformed many homes into beautiful and welcoming spaces. Her clients admired her talent and dedication, and she took great pride in her work. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jonathan, and their two beloved sons, Nathaniel Peirce (Peg Loughran) of Peaks Island, Maine, and Benjamin Peirce (Michelle Willits) of Oregon, Wisconsin. She also had five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Goss-Peirce, Brianne Peirce, Lillian Goss-Peirce, Maggie Peirce, and Polly Peirce. She is further survived by her sisters, Nancy (Stan) Marsden of Chocorua, New Hampshire, and Biffie (Mike) Gallant of Randolph, Vermont, and their extended families. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Wyeth Norris and Mary Elizabeth ("Betty") Sparks Norris, by her beloved aunt Eleanor Norris Ave Lallemant, and by her dear cousin JoAnne Norris Harding, who long took credit for introducing Debbie and Jonathan to each other. Deborah's intelligence, strength, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A memorial service will be held at Black Point Cemetery, Black Point Road, Scarborough, Maine, at 3:30 p.m. Friday, July 18. A celebration of life will follow at Sprague Hall, 1 Charles E Jordan Road, Cape Elizabeth, Maine, from 5 to 7 p.m.
