Deborah Helen Peterson, 66, formerly Deb Buchanan (nee Johnson) was welcomed into the loving arms of her parents and son Sean on August 24, 2024. Deb was born on October 1, 1957 in Geneva, IL to John Walter Johnson of Geneva, IL and Joan Helen (Plamman) Johnson of Appleton, Wisconsin.

Deb was very creative and went to college for 2 years for graphic arts and went on to work in the industry for a while, was the Northville Township Supervisor and she was also a tour guide and helped with daily operations with the Farnsworth house. Deb was also very patriotic and politically active. She was always there to help people, whether it was a ride to a rally or joining in to help with operations.

Deb was a great artist, cook, baker and loved to garden and was proud of her healthy lifestyle. She sometimes gardened all day. Above all else though, she loved her children selflessly and unconditionally. Being a good mother meant the most to her and was her greatest accomplishment. She was an amazing mother. She absolutely loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Deb is survived by a daughter, Amanda Buchanan of Sugar Grove, IL; Grandchildren, Phoenix Buchanan, Alissa Buchanan, Jax Buchanan, Sariah Buchanan, Kamden Buchanan and Leighton Buchanan; 2 great grandchildren; Siblings, Ron (Debbie) Johnson, Karen Beers, Joanne Duryee and Bob Johnson; As well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and an aunt and uncle.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Joan and her son, Sean Buchanan.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548. A funeral service will be held next day, Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 12:00 P.M. at Fox River Lutheran Church, 2785 US-52, Sheridan, IL 60551. A graveside service will follow out to Pine Mound Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home.
