Deborah Ann (Dugdale) Powers, 75, of West Warwick, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025. She was the loving wife of the late Stephen W. Powers. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frederick J. and Margaret C. (Quinn) Dugdale.
Deb graduated from West Warwick High School and from the Community College of Rhode Island. She went on to work as a Nuclear Medicine Technician and served in her profession for forty-five years at St. Joseph Hospital. After retirement, Deb worked as a medical assistant atOrtho Rhode Island, where she continued her passion of caring for people. An avid golfer, Deb also loved working at Triggs Golf Club as a member of the Pro Shop team. She was a communicant and active member of Sacred Heart Church in West Warwick and of the former St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Warwick.
She is survived by her beloved children, Scott S. Powers (Sarah) of Warwick, Bethany P. Marso (Kevin) of West Warwick, and Katie E. Powers (Chip Cartier) of Johnston, and her sisters, Janice M. Costello (Tom) of Warwick, Jennifer M. Hubbell (Whitt) of West Warwick, and Rebecca M. Bateson (Scott) of Providence. Deb was a devoted Meme to her grandchildren who adored her and of whom she was very proud, Calia, Colden, Isabelle, Grace, Carsyn, and Jack. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, who fondly referred to her as "Aunt Luv".
She was the sister-in-law of the late Robert H. Powers and Ann Powers.
Deb found joy spending time with her family and friends. Never one to sit still, she could often be found at her grandchildren's school and sporting events, picking them up from school, or having sleepovers and special one on one dates with each of them. She cared about her parish and devoted many hours working with friends on various committees. Deb truly loved golf and played as much as possible with her friends and family and was a long-time member of the St. Joseph's Golf League. She took her role as the appointed matriarch of her family very seriously, and her loss leaves a void her family will never fill.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 8:30AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in West Warwick.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Ronald McDonald House, 45 Gay Street, Providence, RI 02905 or Button Hole Golf, 1 Button Hole Drive, Providence, RI 02909.
