Debbie returned to her Heavenly Father on April 23, 2024. She passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by family and some of her best friends. She was a beloved mom, grandma, and an angel to anyone she ever met. Her life was spent as a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Debbie was born on April 1, 1957, in Grand Junction, Colorado. As an “April Fools” baby, she never lost her good nature and sense of humor. At a young age she moved to Utah with her parents, Forrest and Barbara Hollopeter, and her little brothers, Kenny and Allen. She graduated from Bonneville High School in 1975, and later earned her nursing degree from Weber State University.

According to her sons, one of the greatest highlights of Debbie’s life was being a mother to Ryan and Ben. She worked relentlessly to provide for her family and play a very active role in raising her boys. She never missed a baseball, basketball, hockey, or lacrosse game, and she attended every choir concert and school play. All this while working full time as a Newborn Intensive Care nurse.

Traveling was one of her favorite hobbies. She traveled to many parts of the world, including Communist Russia in the late 70s, where she secretly provided humanitarian work to people whom the Russian government would not help. She loved taking vacations with her family and friends, and later in life she often took random road trips to satisfy her need for adventure.

By far one of Debbie’s greatest joys was her grandchildren, Kayden, Abbie, Olivia, and Markham. She loved to visit, spoil, and travel with them. She has also remained very close with her in-laws in England over the years.

Debbie touched countless lives and brought light with her everywhere she went. She especially enjoyed her time serving as both a Ward and Stake Relief Society President.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Ryan (Andrea) and Ben (Tanya); her grandchildren, Kayden, Abbie, Olivia, and Markham; her brothers, Kenny and Alan; and loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Forest and Barbara Hollopeter; and her sister-in-law, Julie Hollopeter.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
