Deborah Thomas Obituary
"Debb" as she was lovingly known to her friends, "Mama" to her three daughters, and "MawMaw" to her adored grandbabies, was born on July 13, 1953, in Richmond, Virginia, to Peggy Jean and Edward Cole Thomas. She was the oldest of five children and proudly carried that role her entire life.
Deborah moved to Liberty, NC in 1988, where she made her home and built a life rooted in family and community. She worked for many years at Ultracraft Cabinets in various roles, where she especially enjoyed working with the public. More recently, she retired from S.A.S. Marketing. Debbie never met a stranger-she loved to laugh, tell stories, and bring joy into everyday moments.
She had a deep love for the beach, sunshine, and good times, often paired with her favorite margarita. Her quick wit, infectious laughter, and warm heart will be missed beyond measure.
Left to carry on her sense of humor, love of the beach, and legacy of love are her three beautiful daughters: Sherry (Bobby) Butcher of Liberty, NC; Carrie (Eric) Ball of Richmond, VA; and Jennifer (Daniel) Beitzel of Liberty, NC.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Haley and Kelsey Butcher of Liberty, NC; Savannah and Dakota of Liberty, NC; and her beloved great-granddaughter, Maddie G.
Deborah is also survived by her siblings: Danny (Shirley) Thomas, Cindy (David) Botkins, and Pamela (Buddy) Mast, all of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Steve Thomas, and her precious granddaughter, McKayla Davis.
Two memorial services will be held at later dates-one in Liberty, North Carolina, and one in Virginia. The family will share service details when arrangements are finalized.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association in Deborah's honor.
Deborah Jean Thomas will be remembered for her laughter, her love for family, and the joy she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
