Deborah Gail Fishburn Wakefield, 72, of Woodbury passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at Woodbury Health and Rehab. Born in Indianapolis, IN., she was the daughter of the late Bert Fishburn and Cozy Mae Cawthorn Fishburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Long and Joyce Murray.

She is survived by her husband, Randall Gordon Wakefield of Woodbury; children, Amy (Thomas) Poteete of Woodbury and Ryan (Kaye) Wakefield of Winchester; grandchildren, Randi (Jay) Hale, Nathan Poteete and Riley Poteete,Charley Wakefield and Megan Hale; great grandchildren; Brenton, Jayci, Kayleigh and Bentley Hale and siblings, Cathy Nutter, Jerry Long and Mike Murray.

A member of the Center Hill Baptist church, she was retired from South Central Bell where she was an Operator. Being an Operator was the perfect job for her because she loved to talk. She was also a hairdresser. Mrs. Wakefield loved any type of crafts including painting and crocheting. She loved to cook and you never left her table hungry. She also enjoyed a good get together with everyone. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family making memories with them. Per her wishes, she requested to be cremated.
