Deborah Mae Waltemeyer, 71, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She was born on December 25, 1953, in Sedalia, the daughter of Raymond E. Hays and Sarah (Moore) Hays, who preceded her in death.
On January 31, 1970, in Sedalia, MO, she was united in marriage to Donald E. Waltemeyer, who survives of the home.
Deborah worked as a machinist for Missouri Press Metals and later as a sales clerk at Break Time in Sedalia. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her family - especially her grandchildren - and caring for her beloved four-legged companion, Apollo. Deborah also enjoyed visiting the casinos and sharing those outings with her husband, Donald.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Tammy Jo Despain of Sedalia; a son, Donald Ray Waltemeyer of Iowa; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mickey Snider; a sister-in-law, Deborah Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Deborah was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond "Butch" Hays.
There will be no services held at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of Rea Funeral Chapel.
