Rea Funeral ChapelMichael G. Trotter, 65, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia. He was born on March 26, 1960, in Sedalia, the son of Harry A. Trotter and Sandra E. (Cramer) Trotter, who preceded him in death.
On April 2, 2011, in Lake Tahoe, NV, he was united in marriage to Mary S. Butts, who survives of the home.
Mike was a proud graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, Class of 1978, where he played football and made lifelong friendships. Throughout his career, he held several positions, most notably serving as a District Sales Manager for St. Joe Distributing in St. Joseph, MO. He later worked for Cheyenne International as a Route Sales Representative.
Mike enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. A devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan, he held season tickets for many years and rarely missed a game. Mike had a big personality and an even bigger heart - he never met a stranger and was always ready with a joke, a good story, or a playful prank. His quick wit and infectious laugh could light up any room.
In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his faithful four-legged companion, Maggie; a sister, Pam Monsees of Sedalia; a brother, Travis Trotter (Heather) of Sedalia; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A celebration of life gathering for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.
Memorial contributions are suggested to ACG Hospice or the Sedalia Animal Shelter, in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
