DEBORAH ANN GREEN WEST was born on October 7, 1952, to the parentage of Rudolph Alva Green and Helen Marie Mackey. She shared her childhood with 7 siblings.
DEBORAH graduated high school from Amon Carter Riverside High School in Fort Worth ISD. She continued her education at Mary Hardin - Baylor University, TCJC, and University of North Texas where she graduated and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in History and Government. She started her teaching career in Cleburne ISD as a Special Education teacher. She later served as a Special Education and History teacher in Houston ISD. Retiring from McReynolds Middle School in 2008 after serving there for 38 years.
In Fort Worth, Texas she met and made the acquaintance of Alfred Eugene West and they married and moved to Houston Texas. Through that matrimony they had 2 lovely daughters; Alfreda West (deceased) and Bonnie Dell West.
DEBORAH was a faithful member and supporter of her church. She served at Bethel Baptist Church under the tutelage of the late Rev. Dr. Murphy D. Simon Jr. until her health began to become challenged.
DEBORAH was a ray of sunshine wherever her presence was graced. Her laughter and smile was contagious. No one was a stranger for long. She always saw the best in people and always had something funny and uplifting to say. She had a strong, dedicated love and conviction in her relationship with God. Deborah's faith was always at the forefront of her life. She kept her faith in God to the very end.
DEBORAH was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph Alva Green and Helen Marie Mackey; grandparents, Ben and Clara Green; Mattie Lee Wilson; daughter, Alfreda West; brothers, Weldon Green, Patrick Green.
DEBORAH is cherished, loved, and survived by her daughter, Bonnie Dell West (Pastor Rufus Carswell) of Lyerly, GA; brother, Loren Cartwright Green of Arlington, Tx; sisters, Gwendolyn Payne, Teresa Green, Peggy Turner, of Fort Worth Tx; Alva Simmons (Royce) of Arlington, Tx; cousin, Patricia Griffin (Butch) of Arlington, Tx; granddaughter, Ahavah; devoted nephew, Nathaniel Payne (Danielle) and a host of family.
