Deborah Marie "Debbie" Weston

Deborah Marie Weston, age 63, of Moyock, NC, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on May 24, 1961 in Elmira, NY, Deborah was the cherished daughter of Harry and Helen (Harrington) Bennett and the eldest daughter of their seven children. A proud graduate of Elmira Free Academy, she joined the United States Navy, where she made history as one of the first enlisted female sailors stationed aboard any military ship which was the U.S.S. Jason. It was during her service that she met her devoted husband, Steven Weston, with whom she shared nearly 45 wonderful years of marriage.
Deborah held various jobs throughout her life, but her greatest joy came from being a stay-at-home mom to her three beloved children. Her dedication to her family was unparalleled, and she treasured every moment with them.
A passionate traveler, Deborah explored 48 states and numerous countries, embracing each adventure with enthusiasm. She had an extraordinary green thumb, capable of growing almost anything she planted. Her vibrant spirit and love for life touched everyone who knew her.
Deborah is preceded in death by: her parents Helen and Harry "Bing" Bennett; her grandparents - Bud and Olive Bennett, and Howard and Leona Harrington; and her uncles - Roger Bennett, Howdy Harrington, and Richard Harrington.
She is survived by: her husband Steven Weston; her children - Melissa (Marcus) Bennett, Christina (Jesse) Bean, and Drew (Jane) Weston; her grandchildren - Marcus W. Bennett, Ayden Bean, Kellen Bean, Evelyn Weston, Finn Weston and Bodhi Weston; her siblings - William Bennett, Susan Shoemaker, Thomas Bennett, Michael Bennett, Peter (Nancy Brooks) Bennett, and Steven Bennett; her aunt Linda Bennett; her uncle David (Linda) Bennett; and her amazing lifelong best friends. Deborah also leaves behind many cousins, friends, and her very loving and faithful furry companion, Bentley.
Deborah's legacy of love, adventure, and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
A private service will be held in honor of Deborah. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to The American Melanoma Foundation, 8929 University Center Lane, Suite 202, San Diego, CA, 92122.
