Deborah "Debbie" White Obituary

Deborah Still White passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 10, 2026, at the age of 65 following a diagnosis of ovarian cancer in January.

Born on May 3, 1960, in Greenwood, SC, Debbie is survived by her husband of 43 years, Ricky White of Greenwood, her two children, Christopher White of New York, NY, and Amy (Devin) Gilbert of Newport News, VA; and her grandchildren, Ava, Lincoln, and Theodore. She was a second mother to her beloved Serbian sons, former foreign-exchange students, Dragan and Aleksandar (Sasa) Mitrovic. She is also survived by her parents, Jimmy and Pat Still, and her siblings, Beverly (Wayne) Quarles, Jim (Crystil) Still, and Tim (Bridgette) Still, along with numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

A member of Northside Baptist Church, Debbie lived her life guided by faith and kindness toward others. For three decades, she served as kindergarten assistant at Greenwood Christian School, Noah's Ark, and the Learning Express, where she took pride in the lives of hundreds of students that were always eager to greet "Mrs. Debbie."

She was a pickleball enthusiast, an avid walker at the Lander University track, a dedicated aunt to her nieces and nephews, but her greatest joy was simply being a "gammy" to her three grandchildren.

The family extends special thanks to the medical teams at Self Regional Medical Center and Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont, and in particular, Dr. Christopher Knox (or Saint Christopher, as she called him).

Funeral services will be conducted February 12 at 2:00 p.m. at North Side Baptist Church, 409 Northside Drive, Greenwood. A private burial at Greenwood Memorial Gardens will follow.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour.

Pallbearers will be Frankie McGee, Carrol Sams, Wayne Quarles, Michael Quarles, Lowndes Still and Landen Still.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont and Greenwood Christian School.

Blyth Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family.

Privileged to have known Debbie and the people she loves most. I have to be grateful to have witnessed a motherly care as deep as hers and now that legacy lives on in the sweet family she built. A joy to have known you and we are worse off without you. Rest in heavenly, pain-free, peace, Debbie.

"Miss Debbie" was beautiful inside and out. She taught all my grandkids at GCS. We prayed for a healing, and God did.
