Deborah 'Deb' Lee Wellman Wilke, 72, of Huntsville, Alabama, passed away on 30 October 2025 in Huntsville.
Deb was born in Burlington, Vermont to Fred and Ann Wellman on 7 April 1953. She went to John T. Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC and graduated in 1971. Deb was an extraordinary homemaker and loving wife and mother for over 46 years. Deb enjoyed gardening, beekeeping, bird watching, playing bridge, cooking and sewing. She was a Master Gardener and was involved in volunteer work for The Land Trust of North Alabama, the Garden Guild, A New Leash on Life, and The Greater Huntsville Humane Society.
Deb is survived by her husband, Bob Wilke of Huntsville; sons, Daniel Wilke of Huntsville and Arthur Wilke (Amy) of Birmingham, AL; sister, Patricia Meehan (Grady) of Huntingdon, PA; brother, Harry Wellman (Buffy) of San Jose, CA; sister-in-law, Judy Wellman of San Jose, CA; brother-in-law, Bruce Wilke (Lorri) of Redding, CA; sister-in-law, Bonnie Wilke of El Dorado Hills, CA; brother-in-law, Paul Wilke (Kary) of Jacksonville, OR; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Ann Wellman; brother, Les Wellman; and nephew, Michael Wellman.
The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the kind professionals at Clearview Cancer Institute, Crestwood Hospital, Huntsville Hospital and Hospice.
Private services will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville.
