Deborah Page Bright Wright, 72, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, January 11, 2026.
Page was born on February 17, 1953, to Lynn Williams of Williamston and John Frank Bright of
Washington, North Carolina, both of whom preceded her in death. Page attended Washington High School, where she graduated in 1971 and was a member of the marching band. She later attended Nursing School at Beaufort Technical Institute, now known as Beaufort Community College.
In 1994, Page married Dr. Walter Lee Wright at their home in La Grange. The "house in the country" as she lovingly referred to it would be the backdrop to countless memories for the Wrights and their beloved family and friends.
After her nursing career, Page turned her lifelong love of design into a full-time business. She owned and operated Blythe House, which began as a ladies' apparel boutique and later evolved into a beloved home décor destination with locations in Kinston, Morehead City, and finally, Washington. Page was widely known throughout Eastern North Carolina for her extraordinary eye for interior design and her ability to transform any space into something beautiful, welcoming, and full of life. Her passion for design then morphed into event decorating and staging homes for real estate.
Known affectionately as Page or "Gert" to those who loved her, she was truly one of a kind. Page also had a deep love for animals and was a devoted "mother" to many beloved pets throughout her life, including Dalmatians, Yorkies, a Siamese cat, and even a cow named Coco. Her compassion extended far beyond her own home, reflecting the warmth and care she showed to all living things.
Above all, Page will be remembered for her generosity. She had a servant's heart and found joy in helping others in any way she could-whether by offering the perfect décor for a special occasion, lending a listening ear, or quietly supporting countless charitable causes. Her kindness was sincere, her giving selfless, and her impact immeasurable.
Along with her husband and parents, Page was also preceded in death by her brother, Ashley Jarvis Bright; and her sister, SuLynn Bright Martin.
She is survived by her brothers, Ronald Franklin Bright (Sabrina) and Gary Lee Bright; her nieces and nephews, Allison Bright Hardy (Scott) and Tanner Franklin Bright (Racheal); and her two great-nephews, Carter Jerome Hardy and Cash Williams Hardy, all of whom she loved dearly.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Page's caretakers for their compassion and dedication, especially Regina "Cookie" White, Connie Copper, Jessica Artis, and Sharon Whitley Moore.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 18, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Washington Yacht & Country Club.

Page leaves behind a legacy of beauty, love, creativity, and generosity that will continue to live on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
