Funeral services for Debra Ann Abshire, 70, will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Haughton Cemetery, South Elm St., Haughton, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at Southside.
Debra was born on October 1, 1954 in Tyler, Texas to Fred Stokes and Dorothy Ceal and passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025 in Shreveport.
Debra graduated from Haughton High School and worked many years in construction as a surveyor. She was always proud to point out all the bridges she built and finished her working career as an office manager. Debra was kind and generous and when she loved, she loved in a big way and was not shy to tell someone she loved them. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Debra is preceded in death by her father, Fred Stokes; and her maternal grandparents, Clyde and Clemmie Gardner. Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Dorothy Ceal; stepfather, James Ceal; sons, Brian Horn and Kevin Horn and wife, Julie; two brothers, Larry Alexander and Robert Worrell; two sisters, Susan Gallion and Robin Mayberry; three grandchildren, Tanner Jones, Shelby Horn and Jacob Horn; great-grandchildren, Amyah and Audrey Horn; and many nieces and nephews.
Honoring Debra as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tanner Jones and Jacob Horn. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Matthew Purvis.
