Debra J. Andreas, born on February 14, 1958, in
Lehighton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully from natural causes on December 19, 2025, at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was 67 years old.
Debra was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to her dedication, passion, and service to others. She was the founder and CEO of New Light, Inc., a role through which she made significant contributions to her community and beyond. Her career also included many years of dedicated work in human services, where she touched countless lives with her kindness and professionalism.
A woman of varied interests, Debra bred and showed Great Danes professionally, earning admiration in the canine community. Her love for music was profound, as evidenced by her master's degree in music from Mansfield University. Debra's musical talents extended into education, where she enriched young minds as a substitute teacher in New Jersey.
Her faith was a cornerstone of her life. Debra served as the Current Regent for the Catholic Daughters of America Immaculate Conception Court and was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Clarion. She supported the Catholic Rural Ministry of the Oil City Deanery and was always involved in local charities, notably contributing to the Clarion Kindness Project.
Debra was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Nevin and Johanne Andreas.
She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her sons, Bryan and Rob Andreas; her brother, John Andreas, and his wife, Darlene; her nephew, John Andreas and his wife, Gretchen, along with their children Rileigh and Weston; and her niece, Kristy Young, and her husband, Josh, and their sons, Harper and Maddux Young. In addition, her uncle, William Merics and his wife Terrie. She is also survived by numerous cousins and many dear friends.
Debra's legacy is one of compassion, strength, and unwavering faith. Her impact on her family, friends, and community will be felt for generations to come. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30pm on Saturday, January 3, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Church: 715 Main St.
Clarion, PA 16214 with Rev. Jason Feigh serving as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
