Debra "Debbie" Berry, age 68, resident of Shelby, after a long and hard fought battle with cancer went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 20, 1957 in Willard, Ohio to Raymond and Wanda (Howard) Hughes and graduated from Plymouth Senior High School in the class of 1976.
"Debbie" worked for more than 30 years at MTD Shelby and retired as a supervisor. At the age of 10 years, she gave her heart to her Lord and attended local churches throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and called their travels, "Sister Trips". "Debbie's" life revolved around her love for family, especially her grandkids. Her grandkids were her world.
She is survived by three children, Shane Berry of Lexington, Amy (Harvy) Clevenger of Crestline and Scott (Jennifer) Berry of Lexington; three grandsons, Drayton, Corbin and Gauge Berry; her siblings, Danny (Dona) Hughes of Shelby, Kay Evans of Albion, IN, Brenda Sweet of Mansfield, Ray (Christy) Hughes of Mansfield and Sherri (Bruce Coburn) Hughes of Mansfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives who will miss her dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Michael L. Berry, whom she wed on February 5, 1977.
Friends and family may visit at the Barkdull Funeral Home & Crematory in Shelby, Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held following calling hours at 1:00 PM. Reverend Matthew Pond will officiate with interment held in Oakland Cemetery.

I had the privilege of working with Deb at MTD, she was my supervisor. Such a wonderful person, and an amazing personality. My sincerest condolences to her family, she will be greatly missed by all who's lives she touched.
