Debra Brasher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Laughlin Service Funeral Home & Crematory - Huntsville on Oct. 3, 2022.
Debra Ann Brasher, 62, of Huntsville passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022. Born in Chicago, IL, Debra moved to Huntsville with her family as an infant. She graduated from Johnson High School in 1978, then attended the University of Montevallo for one year and eventually graduated from UAH with a degree in Art and Interior Design. In addition, she earned a master's degree from A&M University in education.
Debra worked for many years as a Draftsman and in the Quality Assurance Department at SAIC supporting NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. While family and friends were most important to Debra, she fulfilled her call to be a mother when she adopted her girls. After years of preparation, she traveled twice to China with her brother, to bring home the joys of her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Prudence Grace "Jiansha" Brasher, and PeiLi Hope "Xiumi" Brasher; parents, Audrey and Charles "Chuck" Brasher; brother, Charles "Chuck" Brasher, junior; Jacob Robert Fennimore; and her fur babies, "Chicken" and "Muffin".
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The funeral service will follow at noon. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are longtime family friends and NASA friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the education fund supporting Prudence and PeiLi and mailed in care of Audrey Brasher at 304 California Street, Huntsville, AL 35801.
