Debra Gordon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home on Dec. 5, 2025.
Debra Kyle Gordon, age 70, a resident of Naperville, IL, formerly of Carmel, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025 at Edward Hospital. She was born on December 15, 1954 in Chicago, IL.
Debra is survived by her loving children, Joe (Katy) Gordon and Cindy (Roger) Gordon; and her cherished grandchildren, Casey, Frank, and Lydia Gordon; and her brother, David Winn. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Kenneth "Ken" Gordon; her beloved sister, Sharon Koehling; and her parents, Howard and Emma Winn.
Debra grew up in Homewood, IL and was a graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School, Class of 1973. She was a registered nurse whose career spanned several specialties, including her work at the Marion County (IN) Public Health Department, St. Vincent Hospital of Indianapolis, and as a school nurse at Cardinal Ritter High School while her children were students there. Dedicated, compassionate, and deeply committed to the well-being of others, Debra found great purpose in her work.
Outside of work, Debra enjoyed a wide range of hobbies throughout much of her life. She was an avid reader and always had a book nearby-Memoirs of a Geisha and To Kill a Mockingbird were among her favorites. She loved needlepoint and spent many hours working on detailed projects for friends and family. She also had a long-standing interest in Japanese culture, appreciating its art and traditions. Debra especially enjoyed puzzle games like sudoku, word searches, and crossword puzzles, which she liked to do daily for many years.
All services are private. Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Naperville, was entrusted with arrangements.
