Debra Maxson, born on May 29, 1964, in Marshall, Michigan, passed away on February 17, 2025, at the University of Michigan Hospital. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, Grandmother, cherished daughter and sister whose remarkable life was marked by her deep commitment to family, the lord and an unwavering passion for her work and hobbies.
Debra dedicated her career to the culinary arts, working as a baker at Bill Knapp's restaurant, where her baked goods brought joy to many patrons. In addition to her work in the culinary field, she contributed her skills at Denso and served in various capacities within assisted living care, reflecting her compassion and dedication to helping others.
On July 20, 1985, Debra married Andrew Maxson, and together they built a warm and loving household. She is survived by her husband, Andrew Maxson; her mother Martha Marks; her son, Jeremy (Kelcie) Maxson; and her grandson, Greyson Maxson. She is also survived by her sisters, Sheryl Haan and Linda Marks.
Debra's interests were diverse and vibrant. She found joy in crafts, garage sales, collecting birdhouses, as well as painting and ceramics. Her love for bowling and kayaking highlighted her adventurous spirit, and she reveled in the beauty of the outdoors, often finding peace in nature especially with deer and birds. Debra was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Marks, her sister, Susan Marks, and daughter, Shelby Maxson.
Visitation will be held on Monday February 24, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a funeral service on Tuesday February 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM, at Richard A Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek, MI. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association. www.henryfuneralhome.org
