Debra Perry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith Funeral Service & Crematory - Greenville on Dec. 22, 2025.
Kinston - Mrs. Debra Perry passed away on December 17, 2025, at the age of 68.
Services will be held at a later date.
Daughter of Verne Ira Finch and Margaret Kathleen Blake, Debra was born in New Hanover County on November 15, 1957. While attending Wake Technical Community College's LPN program, Debra met her husband of 43 years, John Gold Perry. Together, Debra and John had three children, Misty, Katherine, and John David. After the passing of her first husband, Debra found love again with long-time family-friend, Craig Horton. Debra and Craig were married in August of 2024.
Debra's passion for caregiving was well demonstrated throughout her life. In addition to caring for her family, she worked in various healthcare settings for over 35 years, where she provided excellent care to her patients. Debra also volunteered with the American Red Cross, and donated blood on a regular basis. In her free time, Debra enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog Foxy, crocheting, and watching sunsets at the beach.
Debra is preceded in death by her first husband John Perry, parents Verne and Margaret Finch, brother David, and sister Dotothy.
She is survived by her husband, Craig Horton; children, Misty Perry, Katherine Pope (Frank), and John David Perry (Shanna); grandchildren, Hailey Pope, Ashley and Justin Perry; great-grandson, Tucker Felix Osuna; and stepchildren, Rebekkah Simon (Chad), and Ashley Fultz (Jeff).
