Sylvia (Lewis) Hardison Black Jack - Sylvia Lewis Hardison, 75, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 14, at 11am in the Smith Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Sylvia, a lifelong resident of Pitt County, was a hairstylist for over 50 years. She had a deep love for crafting and doing hair, always using her talents to make others feel special and cared for. She found her greatest joy in her grandchildren and was a loving grandmother to many, not only by family, but by heart. She loved spending time by the river and going kayaking, finding peace and happiness in nature. She deeply cherished her sister, and their bond was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She adored her dogs and treated them as part of her family. Her strong faith guided her through life and helped her overcome many obstacles with grace and strength. Her home and her heart were always open, and she treated everyone like her own. She will always be remembered for her loving spirit, generous heart, and unwavering faith, and her legacy of kindness will live on through the many lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Margie Lewis; husband, Jeffrey Hardison; son, Glen Adams, Jr.; and brother, William Thomas Lewis.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Robbie Edwards (Sarah) of Cary; daughter-in-law, Nicole Meeks Adams of Black Jack; grandchildren, Nicholas Adams, Alexander, Zachary and Ava Edwards, and Leah Adams; great-grandchild, Arelli Edwards; sister, Teresa Weeks (Ronnie) of Blounts Creek; niece, Lori Waters of Black Jack; great nephew, Zane Hines; and fur babies, Molly, Coco and Jr.
