Debra Kay (Parker) Pyles was born on March 26, 1957, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Roy Thomas and Shirley (Myers) Parker. Debra grew up in the Tulsa area along with her three sisters. Growing up Debra loved to sing. She was involved In the Red Birds, a girl's scouting group. Debra excelled in math.  She attended and graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Debra married Frank Pyles on June 2, 1979, in Miami, Oklahoma. They honeymooned in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They moved to the country in Osage County in 1989 because Debra loved her dogs, and they needed space to run. Debra and Frank had their son Sam in 1998.

Debra worked different jobs around until she became the receptionist for H R Block in Mannford, where she finished her career. Debra and Frank enjoyed traveling. They spent time in Las Vegas on Memorial Day Weekends, and they backpacked up Long's Peak in Estes Park, Colorado. Debra loved the holidays but especially Christmas, she would go all out with the decorating, gifts, Christmas cards and cooking. She loved growing her Irises and Lilies.
