Debra Wells "Debby" Roach

Debra "Debby" Wells Roach, age 68, was welcomed to her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Born in Halifax County, NC, on February 13, 1956, she was the daughter of William Murphy "Jim" Wells and Gladys Keeter Wells. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Wells.
For countless years, Debby put on her "bookkeeper" hat during tax season and served thousands by processing their income tax returns. Debby graduated from Nash Community College in 1997 with a degree in Information Technology and Computer Science. She worked for Watson Electrical Construction Company for 25 years as Network Administrator until her retirement, then continued to serve them as a contracted employee until her death. Family; especially the grandchildren, was Debby's life. She never missed a dance recital, baseball game, volleyball game, shooting competition, birthday, graduation, anniversary, or any special occasion. A dedicated and loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many, Debby took on more than her fair share of caring for those around her and she will be deeply missed.
Debby's memory is cherished by her high school sweetheart and husband of 51 ½ years, Richard "Ricky" Roach; two beloved sons, Alan Roach and wife April, of Pinetops, NC and John "Johnny" Roach and wife Christy of Rocky Mount, NC; four treasured grandchildren, Sarah Roach and fiancée Jacob Sessoms of Raleigh, NC, Joseph Roach and significant other Gracey Rose of Greenville, NC, Caroline Roach of Rocky Mount, NC and significant other Layton Dupree of Wilson, NC, and Jacob Roach of Rocky Mount, NC; mother Gladys Wells of Roanoke Rapids, NC; sister Margaret "Kitty" Hadley and husband Ricky of Wendell, NC and brother James "Jimmy" Wells and wife Danita, of Roanoke Rapids, NC. She also leaves behind two special dogs, Lexi "Chi Chi" and Daisy.
A visitation and memorial service to celebrate Debby's life is planned for Friday, November 8, 2024, with visitation at 3:00PM - 5:00PM and memorial service following at Pinetops Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Debby's memory to the American Stroke Association. www.stroke.org
