Debra Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Benefield Funeral Home of Lineville on Jan. 21, 2026.
Funeral services for Ms. Debra Jean Waters Taylor, age 73, of Lineville, will be held on January 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Christiana Baptist Church with Bro. David Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining Cemetery.
Ms. Taylor passed away at her daughter's home on Sunday January 18, 2026. She was born in Calhoun County, and lived the early part of her life in Randolph and Clay County. Debra had lived in the McCalla area for the past 25 years. She was quite the traveler and spent many years working as a travel nurse. She was also a professional bee keeper, selling honey and other products made from the bees wax. In her younger days, she really enjoyed water skiing, camping; but spending as much time as she could with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her the most joy.
Debra is survived by her daughter; Phyllis Harris (Hal) of Lineville, her son; Wayne Ford (Michele) of Delta, her special long term friend; Scott Davidson of McCalla, four grandchildren; Genna McCay (Scott Pulliam), Kyle Ford (Anna), Haleigh Ford (Trent Williams), and Allie McCormick (Brad), and four great-grandchildren; Evan McCay, Kinsley McCay, Elena Pulliam, and Hayes Williams, one sister Janice Waters Zeigler (Sam) of Jefferson, Ga, and one brother; Terry Lynn Waters (Karol) of Lineville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; William Clydene Waters and Marcella Taylor Waters, two sisters; Lora Mae Waters Easterwood and Christina "Tina" Clarke, three brothers; Grady, Keith, and Ronnie Waters, and one grandson; Richard Dustin McCay.
Active pallbearers will be Kyle Ford, Michael Ford, Evan McCay, Sam Zeigler, Keith Clarke, Jeff Bonner, and Scott Pullium.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Wednesday January 21, 2026 from 5:30 until 8:00 P.M. and one hour to service time at the church.
